Our expert guides are here to help you dive into the full experience of living at our ranch, Hacienda Guachipelin. The now 79-room hotel began as a place where visitors to the Rincon de la Vieja National Park would inevitably ask to stop and stay the night. And like the welcoming people that we are in Guanacaste, the ranch owners would always say yes. Our family bought this business in 1975 and have kept it functioning like a ranch to continue that same welcoming feeling for our guests–the kind that makes them want to stop and stay the night. This is a spectacularly beautiful landscape that needs to be enjoyed over a prolonged period of time to take in the full roaring majesty of being near the most active volcano in all of Costa Rica!

Share meals among the branches of our namesake, the giant Guachipelin tree that cradles two of our restaurant’s dining rooms. The third room can be rented out separately for large groups, as can the whole of our establishment. You will be greeted with inviting marimba music every night while our band sings you to your seats. At the heart of this space is our delicious farm-to-table buffet spread, served daily at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All of our dishes are prepared with care and detail by our traditional Guanacaste chefs. Using flavors and spices that are distinct to our region, and ingredients straight from our productive grounds, our restaurant offers a culinary experience that is unmatched for freshness, quality, and flavor. Enjoy cheese made fresh daily from our hundreds of free-range dairy cows. Our beef, pork, and chicken come straight from our ranch. And our fruits and vegetables are grown, picked, and served to you all from within our own grounds.
