Kick-Off With A Horseback Waterfall Tour

Begin your day with a horseback riding expedition through the tropical dry forest trails on our Hacienda grounds. This half-hour trail starts with a gentle jaunt through our dairy farm that leads into the jungle, where you pass through an oak grove and a multitude of birdlife. The horses are experts at negotiating these trails and the guides are helpful in pointing out wildlife sights and giving a history of the park. The trail ends at La Victoria waterfall, which is one of the main wonders of the Rincon de la Vieja National Park. This beautiful, two-tiered waterfall descends powerfully into the Rio Negro canyon, adjacent to a beautiful clearing that lets visitors take in the full view of the falls. There is a viewing platform where you can get right up close to the falls for a photo, or head down to the natural pool for a revitalizing dip in the cool fresh water.

The second part of the day takes you onto our adventure school bus and over to our starting plateau for our Rio Negro Tubing Tour. End The Day In A Volcanic Hot Spring Soak

Finish this epic one-day adventure tour by relaxing inside our natural volcanic hot spring park. We have 15 pools filled with volcanically heated water, with revitalizing steam and mud bath stations. Take a dip in the hot springs and wash off the volcanic mud in the cool river below.

You can drive or take the courtesy shuttle to Hacienda Guachipelin’s hot springs, which you then reach by a short hike across a bridge. Heated volcanic mud pits are available to paint your body with mineral-rich, exfoliating clay. Since it will be the late afternoon when you arrive at this outdoor spa, it might softly rain, bringing a refreshing cool air to compliment the hot thermal pools. Ahh… now that’s the life!
